While portions of the cannabis industry takes a hit during the pandemic, medical cannabis dispensaries in New Mexico are preparing to increase their workforce.
With an additional 11 dispensaries opening in New Mexico, this opens up at least 1,000 new jobs, the Albuquerque Journal reported.
Ultra Health expects to hire between 50 – 100 employees monthly as they open additional dispensaries. Duke Rodriguez of Ultra Health indicates that the company plans to open numerous locations this year.
Rodriguez said, “Legalization is no longer a question, but a matter of timing.”
With the state losing money due to oil prices plummeting, it needs to make up the loss of revenue somewhere, and that could partially come from legalizing adult use marijuana.
