Massachusetts Adult-Use Marijuana Initiative Gets onto Ballot

MA Marijuana Legalization Initiative

The Massachusetts Secretary of State’s office has confirmed that initiative Question 4, The Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act, will be on the November ballot.  If approved, residents 21 years old or older could possess up to 10 ounces of marijuana for recreational use.

The act would also allow home cultivation of up to six plants, according to reports from NORML. Commercial licensing, taxation and regulation would also take place. Non-commercial transactions would not be subjected to taxes.

A decriminalization ballot measure for possessing marijuana has already been approved by Massachusetts voters.

Massachusetts currently joins Arizona, California, Maine and Nevada in the count of states that have ballot measures this November for recreational marijuana legalization.
